Welcome to the Official Website for Hazlet Township First Aid & Rescue Squad

Established in 1946, the West Keansburg First Aid Squad of Raritan Twp. was formed by eight individuals who willingly dedicated their time and efforts to assist the injured and ill. Acquiring a small 1938 Cadillac Ambulance, they responded to 485 calls in 1947, marking the inception of a tradition of selfless service by devoted members. This commitment to community persists today in the members of your First Aid squad.

Since 1971, the squad has been known as the Hazlet Township First Aid & Rescue Squad. Over the years, it has expanded to cater to the growing population, operating from two buildings on each side of town. With five ambulances, a rescue truck, a special operations unit, a first responder vehicle, a rescue boat, a staging trailer, and a chief's vehicle, the squad efficiently handles approximately 1,700 calls annually. To meet this demand, members undergo top-notch training in first aid and rescue techniques. Currently, the squad is actively seeking new members to address the rising call volumes.

At present, the voluntary services provided by the squad incur no cost. The primary source of income is derived from fundraising and donations made by Hazlet Twp. residents. Given the substantial expenses associated with equipment, training, and building and vehicle maintenance, your donations play a crucial role.

The members of the Hazlet First Aid & Rescue Squad are your friends, neighbors, and fellow residents. Their day and night volunteering are driven by the understanding that your life depends on it. Be proud of your first aid squad, as they take pride in serving you!
