January 7th will be the cut over date for all Hazlet Emergency Services to the Monmouth County Public Safety Communications Center. All communications and dispatching will be handled through the Sheriff's Communications Center in Freehold. The Sheriff's Office is currently the 911 answering point for Hazlet, in the past 911 calls would be answered there and then relayed to the Hazlet Police Communications Center for dispatch.
Hazlet Police will remain on their current encrypted channel. Fire and EMS will be paged on the County North Paging Frequency. Fire will use the County North Response Frequency for general communication. EMS will be using a 700 mhz. trunking system for communications with County Dispatch. For the change EMS has had to update their hardware and software to move over to the new frequency and CAD System. This was achieved with the support of the Sheriff's Department and Hazlet Township Committee.
